Learning can happen anywhere! In this episode of Charlie & Company, the “school zone” is a quiet, leafy place. Charlie and Miss Ellie, your “Anywhere Teacher,” go for a walk in the woods, with Miss Ellie saying, “I just love finding interesting things outside.” Charlie’s friend Oba the Bear is right at home, and he says, “Let’s listen for the letter sounds that begin words.” Sound them out: path, pond, dog. Next, grab a stick and practice writing letters in sand or dirt with lines, curves, and circles. Afterwards, Charlie’s super-smart friend Violet Raccoon maps out a huge hill, a pretty pond, and a wonderful willow tree. Help follow the letters along a path. Keep building those skills, as Jazara or “Jaz” the Tiger adds a little word-fun adventure. “Help me pick the right words for my story. I will give you words from different rhyming families to choose from.” After the clues come together, sing along with Brian Vander Ark and Miss Ellie. “Look at the trees, reach for the sun…I jump, and I skip, what a wonderful trip.”
